Supplemental security income benefits being paid to a minor child may not be claimed as a credit towards the payment of court-ordered child support. Supplemental security income benefits being received by a minor child may not be considered in determining the presumptive child support due under the child support guidelines. The fact that a child may be receiving supplemental security income benefits may not be used as a grounds to modify or reduce earlier court-ordered child support payments. The fact that the child is receiving supplemental security income benefits will not reduce or diminish the obligations of a parent to furnish child support.
