YoungWilliams Gives Away 20,000th Book

03.18.2014

Record Breaking - WOW #2

Earlier this year, YoungWilliams handed out its 20,000th children’s book, marking a decade of giving books away to the children who visit its child support offices.

YoungWilliams fosters a family-friendly environment in its local child support offices.   In facilities around the country, YoungWilliams hosts a Children’s Corner replete with child-sized furniture, safe toys, and a variety of new hardcover books for children.  As parents wait in the reception area,  their children can play, read, and dream.

When children leave YoungWilliams offices, they are encouraged to choose a book to take home and keep. YoungWilliams believes that books spark the imagination of children and open windows to the world.  YoungWilliams President Rob Wells explained, “This is one small way we can give back to the community and help children experience the joy of reading.”

The company has been donating books since 2004 when it established its first Children’s Corner in its Douglas County office in Omaha, Nebraska.  “It is hard to believe we have given away so many books,” Wells stated.  “Our book program started as a small shelf in one of our offices, and has now grown into a national program that has become a hallmark of YoungWilliams.”
